A subject close to my heart.

This week's Saturday free pattern blog post is centered around free patterns that are plus-size friendly. I sit on the fence between being what the world calls 'normal' and plus size. when I first started knitting I was very very plus size, not only were patterns sparse but they took around 900 miles of yarn. That's often an aspect a pattern creator doesn't take into account when making a pattern that might fit a plus-size person, their choice of yarn to recommend might run a plus-size person 300+ dollars just to make or test their pattern. This is something that...

Leap day free pattern saturday!

Posted by alison miller on

Happy leap day everyone! Its the 29th of Feb! I'm taking 15 minutes out of the intensive dye schedule to write this one today - as some of you know my yarn shipment was held up in customs where it enjoyed the delights of Chullora in Sydney this week for 9 days! Free pattern saturday this time with patterns for the littles in your life!

Posted by alison miller on

This week I wanted to share a couple of free patterns for kiddy clothes. I have attempted to make my child several garments but even when he chooses the color and style he doesn't wear them. May all of your luck be better than mine! The first one is more of a baby item than a kiddy one but its just so adorable and cute! It goes up to 24 months in size and it's just an adorable cardigan in a 4 ply yarn so it's not too thick for most climates. It is the Sunnyside pattern by Tanis fiber...
