SWEATER WEATHER!

Posted by alison miller on

Yesterday was the 10th anniversary of me setting foot in Australia and being with my husband so we took some time out and di absolutely nothing together and it was awesome.

What I noticed though was, it is definitely FINALLY sweater weather down here in the Southern hemisphere! So with that in mind lets have some free sweater patterns on the bit-late-Saturday-now-Sunday-for-this-week blog!

This first one is exactly the kind of sweater I think of when I think of winter it looks cosy and snug and chunky Its called Metropolis by Tanis Lavallee. Its knit in a chunky yarn so it also ticks the quick project box too!

You can add this one to your library here - https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/metropolis-3

While this one isn't long sleeved you could make them longer, but it's long in the body and will keep your butt warm! Its the big comfy sweater pattern by Lorna Miser and is knit in a sport weight yarn. I've had this one in my queue for a while and I think I might need one! Because what's a fourth cast on really??

You can add this one to your extensive queues here - https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/big-comfy-sweater

This next one is a chunky looking crochet one and I LOVE IT! while the paid version is on Ravelry I will give you a link to the pattern writers website where a free version with all her extra modifications and charts are which is super helpful and generous! Its called sunset sweater and is by Crystal Marin.

So, you can add this one to your ravelry library to find later here - https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sunset-sweater-5

Or hop right on over to the free pattern here - https://christacodesign.com/2020/02/19/sunset-sweater-a-free-crochet-sweater-pattern/

This last one I am also in love with its called The Madeline Sweater and is by Brianna Iaropoli I love the openwork bands making a stripe on this, its a perfect Australian day time winter sweater when it's warm but not... too warm. Additionally, Brianna says this is a perfect beginner crochet garment project so if you have yet to dip your crochet toe into the garment world this may be the project for you!

As with the last pattern, this is a paid pattern via Ravelry but you can hop on over to her own website for the free copy.
