Happy leap day everyone! Its the 29th of Feb! I'm taking 15 minutes out of the intensive dye schedule to write this one today - as some of you know my yarn shipment was held up in customs where it enjoyed the delights of Chullora in Sydney this week for 9 days! So I am under the pump trying to get all your orders out asap. But anyway let's have a look at some unisex free patterns this week, I want to share these because on Monday my husband requested a sweater, a v neck.
Doesn't sound so hard of a task, right? Well for anyone like me, who will resist working a pattern FLAT and having to seam it, with every fiber of my being it turned out to be fairly difficult a task. In the end, I nixed the Male search parameter and found a v neck that would work perfectly well but has a lady in the picture, It has no bust or waist shaping, and it turned out to be listed as unisex, so have at it. The bonus? It's FREE!!!!!
The pattern is called Basic v neck and it's released by the knit picks design team free of charge, it's knitted in a worsted weight - you would get away with a heavy DK for this pattern.
This one can be downloaded or added to your library here - https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/basic-v-neck-pullover
This next one would make the perfect gift for anyone, and its the Irish hiking scarf. This project is also perfect if you've never attempted cables before. It's a simple cable to get you going and you'll be doing those complicated crazy panels in no time. This one in a worsted weight also so it's also a quick project!
The Irish hiking scarf is by Adrian Bizilia and can be added to your library or downloaded here - https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/irish-hiking-scarf
I've got a bonus crochet pattern for you all as well since it is, after all a leap year we better be extra about it. Another scarf for your gifting pile, easy to work up and will suit anyone. Its also going to be a super-fast little one to knock up since its done in super bulky yarn!
Also, quick aside isn't the man in the pictures rather dashing?! You can add the Hudson scarf by Alexandra Tavel to your library or download it here - https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hudson-scarf
After a little break last week Fridays yarn waffle is back so you can watch this weeks installment here!
Okay, I am heading back outside to play in some more dye and get hot and sweaty and of course, fulfilled creatively!
Have a lovely weekend all
